Gerard Moreno was born on April 7 1992 in Santa Perpetua de Mogoda near Barcelona Spain. He began playing football at a young age in local Catalan academies. His talent was noticed early and he eventually joined the youth setup of Espanyol where he continued to develop his skills and vision as a striker.He made his senior debut with Villarreal B and later with the first team in 2012. However he was loaned to Mallorca to gain experience before returning to Espanyol in 2015. There he became a key player showing great improvement in finishing and positioning. His performances earned him a move back to Villarreal in 2018.Gerard quickly established himself as Villarreal's top scorer. Known for his sharp left foot and smart movement he plays well both as a classic number nine and as a support striker. In the 2020 21 season Gerard led Villarreal to glory in the UEFA Europa League. He scored crucial goals during the campaign including in the final against Manchester United.
